Bloody Hell, in the words of Michael Caine (kind of) "Zombies, Sir, fousands of 'em." Bank Holiday Monday, a hot August day in Leicester Sqaure and the hordes of visitors were treated to zombies a-plenty. This particular outing was promoting the exceptional British Zombie Film, The Zombie Diaries which was being shown at the Odeon, Leicester Square as part of Frightfest 2007.

Zombie Ed and Sammy from terror4fun travelled down to Leicester Square far too bloody early in the morning and met Darkwaters Zombie Gav down there, ready for lurching and shambling, his face already peeled back for another day of making sure that people are into their zombies...

BUT BEFORE any of the craziness could start, the make up had to be applied, down stairs in the bowels of the Odeon, those that didn't come in make up, could be made up by Paul Ewen, excellent independant make up artist, Stuart Conran from Shaun of the Dead, Mike Peel from the Zombie Diairies and one of the Monster Companies own... They started sending forth the undead and we nearly came to a gooey end at the hands of this vicar that came lurching up the stairs... Or you could simply chill out in the square and DIY the make up!

Terror4fun were definitely not alone in the square as all manner of Zombies came out of their hiding places to devour tourists as they passed by...

Finally came the aerial photo opportunities with all of the assembled zombies lurching towards the railings at one side of Leicester Square, towards the assembled photographers on the ground and of course on the balcony, where the flashguns and video cameras almost blocked out the sun... It's not every day that people passing through Leicester Square find it full to the brim with the Living Dead !!!

After the lunging came a spontaneous zombie conga, kind of like a normal one, but more shumbling, brains being shed and blood being spilt.

Finally the zombie invasion of nearby businesses, no longer under the sway of their Zombie Diaires masters, the zombie crowd invaded a couple of local restaurants, a bookies and finally what I believe is an Art Deco Hotel...

After a little longer the crowd of rotting corpses dispersed either to be swallowed up by the bowels of the Odeon, to watch Frightfests showing of the Zombie Diaires or to some local public house, but never mind, the only remenants were some peeling flesh, a little blood and some bins full of red stained make up removing wipes... All in all, a great day was had by every zombie that shuffled in aid of this world record attempt!
